Blue Box, a popular manga series from Weekly Shonen Jump, is getting its own anime adaptation. The first trailer for the anime was recently released during Jump Festa 2024. Blue Box, written by Kouji Miura, may not be the most well-known manga in Shueisha’s lineup, but its unique blend of sports drama and romance has captured the attention of fans. Now, the series is set to reach an even wider audience with its anime adaptation.

Although a release date has yet to be announced, fans are excited to see the first trailer for the Blue Box anime. The trailer, which was revealed at Shueisha’s Jump Festa 2024 convention, gives a glimpse into the story and introduces a new character, Hina Chono, voiced by Akari Kito. The animation for the series will be done by Telecom Animation Film, with planning and production by UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS.

For those unfamiliar with Blue Box, the manga follows the story of Taiki Inomata, who admires Chinatsu from a distance. Despite feeling doubtful about her ever noticing him, Taiki gathers the courage to encourage her to pursue her dreams. The manga is available to read for free on Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library, with the most recent three chapters available for free and the complete back catalog available with a paid subscription.

While there are still many details about the anime that have yet to be revealed, fans are eagerly anticipating the release. The main cast includes Shoya Chiba as Taiki Inomata and Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Kano, with more cast and staff announcements to come in the future.
